Meet the Founder
Cheryl Tinsley, ARM, ABC, has over 30 years experience in risk management, loss control, worker’s compensation, public speaking and training. She carries an Associate in Risk Management Certification from the Institutes, is an Accredited Business Communicator through the International Association of Business Communicators, as well as recognized by the American Water Works Association as a Water Utility Safety Manager. She holds a bachelor’s degree from UMKC, and a master of arts from Webster University.
Cheryl began her career with the City of Independence, serving as the safety and training coordinator for the water utility for eighteen years. She then coordinated the City’s self-insured workers compensation program for twelve years.
During this time, Cheryl also served on the board for the Missouri Self Insurers Association and as President for the Missouri chapter of PRIMA. Currently, she serves as a part-time instructor for Kansas City Metropolitan Community College – Blue River Campus.
After 30 years in the public sector, Cheryl felt a calling to help businesses with practical solutions to common loss control and risk management issues without breaking the bank. Driven by a desire to build relationships to better serve with a personal touch, Tinsley Risk Solutions was born.
